Dickinson, North Dakota farmer Ed Kessel is about one-third of the way through his small grain harvest. The winter wheat, peas,and barley are done. Kessel says the hot, dry weather in July hurt his spring wheat crop. “it’s only slightly above average. Test weights are right at 60 pounds and protein may be a little under normal.”
