According to the Farm Service Agency, there were 3.5 million acres of prevented planting acres nationwide this year. North Dakota leads the nation with 918,000 acres. That compares to nearly 2.4 million acres in PP last year. Texas has the second largest amount of prevented plant with 842,000 acres. South Dakota was third with 337,000 acres.
