The Minnesota Farmers Union is calling on the government to address anticompetitive mergers. Four companies control 85 percent of the meat packing business, 85 percent of corn seed, 76 percent of soybean seed and three companies control 95 percent of large farm tractor sales. MFU co-sponsored a virtual town hall this past week to surface new ideas to address mergers.
