AgCountry Farm Credit Services Legislative and Public Affairs Officer Andy Martin says it’s not much of a surprise that the 2023 Farm Bill will likely require an extension as we approach the September deadline. “Some work will be happening right after the August recess is very likely and I hope to see some activity very soon.” Martin says in recent visits to D.C. they have focused on two key priorities when talking with lawmakers. “Our number one priority is protecting crop insurance. We’re also talking a lot about ways support young farmers and ranchers.” Increasing FSA Guaranteed Farm Loan Programs and direct loan limits are ways Martin says this farm bill can help.
