While 55 percent of the country’s corn crop rated good to excellent, there are problem areas where heat has taken its toll on the crop. USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says the worst rated corn is in Missouri. “Forty-four percent of Missouri’s corn rated very poor to poor. And at least one sixth of the crop rated poor is four other states; Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, and Minnesota.”
