The Wheat Quality Council’s Spring Wheat and Durum Tour kicks off with crop scout training Monday evening in Fargo. Executive Vice President Dave Green has a good number of scouts on this year’s tour. “We’re going to take 15 cars of people and take them on eight different routes to look at wheat fields.” Green is trying to not over anticipate the size of the crop, and USDA estimated 47 bushels an acre for North Dakota wheat fields. “That would make it above average, but I do hear there are areas of dryness.”
