According to North Dakota State University dry bean breeder Juan Osorno, there’s a few dry bean varieties that are excelling this year including ND Rodeo, ND Lariat, ND Polar, ND Pegasus, and ND Twilight Black. Osorno likes what he is seeing in the dry bean crop in central and northern North Dakota. “The cooler weather is perfect for setting flowers and pods right now. Hot weather leads to flower abortion and yields are affected.”
