U.S. Custom Harvesters Inc. Vice President Paul Paplow is finishing his harvest in the Tribune, Kansas area. It’s been a struggle. “All the way through Kansas we’ve dealt with weeds and rain.” Paplow reports southern Kansas yields averaged 35–to-40-bushels and ranged from 20-to-65 bushels an acre.
