An explosion and fire broke out on July 9 at the Ringneck Energy ethanol plant in Onida, South Dakota. The ethanol plant is part of the Renewable Products Marketing Group, based in Shakopee, Minnesota, and started production in 2019 and processes 80,000 bushels of corn a day. The state fire marshall’s office is investigating the cause of the explosion.
