The U.S. hogs and pigs inventory totaled 72.4 million head as of June 1. That’s up just 80,000 head from last year. The breeding herd category topped 6 million head, which was down slightly from last year. The market hog inventory is up slightly from a year ago. Iowa has the largest supply with nearly 24 million head. Minnesota is ranked second with 8.7 million head.
