Before the weekend rain, the region was dealing with hot and dry conditions, increasing the worry about corn yields. “The good news is drought right now doesn’t have a huge impact on corn yield,” said Jeff Coulter, corn agronomist, University of Minnesota Extension. “It becomes more important when we move into the later vegetative stages closer to tasselling.”
