Richard Syverson is surprised emergence and stands look so good with the variable planting dates. “Some of the earlier stuff had one of two pounding rains on it and there might be a little emergence issue but overall, I’m pretty pleased with the way the crop looks in west-central Minnesota.” Weed control has just begun but the area could use a good soaking rain. Some producers have started making hay around the area. “We’ve got a little bit of moisture underneath, but we really need some rainfall to replenish our surface area.”
