According to the NDSU Crop and Pest Report, a canola flea beetle feeding frenzy is underway. There may be issues with insecticide seed treatments in the early-planted fields in northeast North Dakota because the canola plant was not actively growing during the hot, dry weather. In this situation, a rescue foliar insecticide treatment is recommended. The plant will be able to tolerate flea leaf beetle feeding once the canola reaches the four-to-six leaf stage.
