USDA has determined Bayer’s short-stature corn can be safely grown and bred in the United States. The technology still needs approval from EPA and importing countries. This corn is generally one-third the size of current hybrids and is designed to protect the crop from extreme weather. It also provides more flexibility for over-the-ground application of crop inputs.
