Parts of North Dakota and Minnesota have received pockets of rain here and there. Kelley Bean Company Regional Manager John Bartsch says farmers are working hard to get edible beans in the ground despite the rain. “There’s been only a few pockets that have gotten too much rain, but generally it’s been pretty ideal.” According Bartsch the late planting shouldn’t affect bean development. Dry bean planting progress is still ahead of last year, according to the latest USDA Crop Progress Report.
