The Senate Agriculture Subcommittee on Commodities, Risk Management and Trade will host a hearing today to get a farmer perspective on the farm safety net. This event will have a regional flavor with Minnesota Senator Tina Smith chairing the hearing. American Sugarbeet Growers Association Vice President Neil Rockstad and National Corn Growers Association First Vice President Harold Wolle will testify. Rockstad farms near Ada, Minnesota and Wolle farms at Madelia, Minnesota. The committee will also hear from American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall and National Farmers Union President Rob Larew. Representatives of the dry bean, wheat, soybean and dairy sectors are also included on the panel. This hearing begins at eight o’clock central time.
