A key member of the Mexican agriculture ministry is upset with the United States and its challenge of the Mexican government’s ban on biotech corn imports. The U.S. is seeking trade consultations through the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Mexican Deputy Agriculture Minister Victor Suarez said that is an “unacceptable violation” of Mexican law. In Suarez’s view, the U.S. government is taking its lead from seed and crop protection companies.
