The House Committee on Natural Resources has passed a bill removing the gray wolf from Endangered Species Act protection in the lower 48 states. The majority rejected numerous amendments and eventually passed the bill with a margin of 21-to-16. The committee also approved changes in protection for everything from the lesser prairie chicken to grizzly bears. It’s not known when the bill will be voted on by the full House.
