The Inflation Reduction Act that passed in December includes climate funding for agriculture. There are efforts underway in Congress to take that $19 billion and include it in the farm bill budget baseline. Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, who is the newest member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, wrote a letter to committee leadership. Fetterman said he does not want to see the climate funding to be ‘cannibalized’ to pay for farm bill conservation programs.
