USDA is awarding nearly $16 million for 60 projects to ramp up the country’s animal disease preparedness and emergency response. The University of Minnesota will receive funding for targeted learning modules for the poultry industry and avian influenza. North Dakota State University is also up for grant money to investigate the emergency response to foreign animal diseases and mass livestock deaths.
