North Dakota State University Extension hosted an Adult Mental Health First Aid training in Grand Forks Tuesday. The goal is to end the stigma surrounding mental health. FirstLink Outreach and Training Specialist Dallas Tufty said trainings like this can be an important tool for rural areas. “We have a lot of that ‘pick yourself up and get yourself going’ mindset through those challenges; you have to be able to turn to those around you and have an open dialogue.” Tufty says this training is meant to teach others how to be a resource as well. Help can be reached anytime by dialling 211. Find the full interview with Dallas Tufty here.
