Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has announced a $40 million investment for 31 new projects through its Conservation Innovation Grants. South Dakota State University is one of the grant recipients, earning $1.2 million to overcome climate-smart adoption barriers. This project considers no-till, cover crops and smart fertilizer technologies on the frigid soils of South Dakota.
