JBS finished the fourth quarter with net income of $420 million (U.S.), down from $1.2 billion one year ago. JBS’ largest division is its North American beef business and sales in that area dropped seven percent from a year ago. JBS officials said high inflation is impacting meat sales, resulting in an imbalance between supply and demand.
