It doesn’t look like spring yet, but it is the perfect time to get the planter ready for the season ahead. Precision Planting Regional Manager Brent Horner advises farmers to begin with the bar itself and make sure it can carry the row units. Evaluate each row unit following it to the closing wheels and everything in-between. “Think about how we create the furrow, how we place the seed and how we close it up”. The sprayer is another tool that is often overlooked in the spring. Horner thinks the sprayer could use updates to help farmers re-circulate, prime, flush and clean faster.
