The Government Accountability Office has released two reports dealing with crop insurance. One report was requested by Maine Congresswoman Chellie Pingree and recommends climate-resilient farming practices be required to receive crop insurance benefits. The other GAO report calls for a reduction in the underwriting compensation for crop insurance companies and a means test based on adjusted gross income for farmers to qualify for the risk management program.
