The Livestock Indemnity Program application deadline is March 1. If a notice of loss has been filed, South Dakota Farm Service Agency Disaster Program Manager Logan Kopfmann says now is the time to get the rest of the documents submitted. “They had to have filed a notice of loss within 30 days of the loss. Documentation includes beginning inventory and death loss documentation that needs to be submitted to the county FSA.” Payments should be distributed soon after applications are completed. “All FSA offices are different, but the payments should be distributed almost immediately.”
