As we inch closer to spring, decisions are being made for seeding wheat. WestBred Technical Product Manager Justin Berg encourages farmers to look at the big picture. “Look at what’s happening in the markets, look at your soil samples and seeing where you’re at with your fertility program and looking where they’re going to seed their wheat crop.” Berg says it is important to put the right variety on the right acre. “Specifically, in the Red River Valley, WB 9479 is our earliest maturity variety. It is a shorter variety with excellent yield potential.”
