A bill dealing with North Dakota Corn Checkoff funding has been introduced to the North Dakota legislature. North Dakota Corn Growers Association Executive Director Brenda Elmer says House Bill 1153 would share corn checkoff assessment funding between the council and growers. Funding from this bill would help redirect some corn checkoff funds to the North Dakota Corn Growers in helping educate public officials. “In Washington D.C. there are a lot of issues that we engage in public officials on. The Farm Bill has a lot at stake for North Dakota in farm programs and crop insurance, so this would mainly help us advocate for growers in the state.”
