South Dakota Corn Growers Association President Scott Stahl says his organization want to modernize and make more relevant Title I of the new farm bill. “We want to strengthen the reference price and loan rate for corn and to take a look at base acres for corn as the Cornbelt moves farther west.” Crop insurance is another priority. Stahl says the elected officials from the state have a good understanding of production agriculture and understand the need to enhance producer profitability. The SDCGA held its annual meeting Saturday in Sioux Falls.
