Minnesota Farm Bureau President Dan Glessing says a focus during the American Farm Bureau Federation delegate session was to expand crop insurance to specialty crops and make sure crop insurance was not attached to conservation practices. There was also a resolution seeking protection for those enrolling in conservation programs in case the practices were not adopted successfully.“If they end up not having success and breach the contract, these programs need to be able to change course if needed so the ultimate goal of conservation on the landscape is achieved.”
