As we flip the calendar to 2023, Minnesota Farmers Union President Gary Wertish says the farm bill will be the top priority at the federal level. The current Farm Bill expires in September 2023. Questions revolving around Minnesota’s budget surplus will be a priority at the state level. “Sometimes that creates more problems like what to do with more money, but it’s a good position to be in. We’ll have to figure out what’s sustainable and where to distribute it. There will probably be some tax relief in there too.”
