Weather does have an impact on the cattle market. Comstock Investments market analyst Joe Camp says travel impacts and cold temperatures slow cattle movement. “The marketing effort is affected a lot, especially leading into some big reports like the Cattle on Feed report and monthly slaughter report.” The lean hog market has a quarterly inventory report coming up soon. Camp says both the cattle and hog market is contracting.
