Winter storms moving across the plains pressured the wheat and corn markets. Comstock Investments market analyst Joe Camp says the moisture will help soil conditions and increase water levels on the Mississippi River. “The showers that moved through this year have helped out. For now, the drier pattern in the southwest is going to concern us given the year we’ve had.” Traders are also waiting for the results of the Federal Reserve meeting. “Sharp moves for the dollar are expected. We’ve got a market that’s kind of pricing in this pivot, so we’ll see if that continues to take down the dollar in a way that bodes friendly for export potential.”
