The current continuing resolution expires at the end of this week. North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer says a one-week stopgap spending bill is already in the cards due to the lack of movement in the House. “If we don’t get a continuing resolution or an omnibus (spending bill) done by Christmas Eve, it’s possible we’ll come back the following week to get it done.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has threatened to bring up a bill that extends the current CR through September of 2023. “The first concern is that we find ourselves in the same boat as last year where the appropriations process doesn’t function.”
