IntelliFARM President Brian Voth says Statistics Canada had a couple of bullish surprises in this week’s crop report. Canola production wasn ot as large as traders were expecting. “It was substantially lower.” The wheat production number was the other surprise. “Total wheat production was put at 33.8 million tons. Previously, it was at 34.7 (million) and the trade estimate was at 34.8 million tons. So again, about a million tons lower than the trade estimate.”
