National Feed and Grain Association Director of Communications Sarah Gonzalez says the tentative rail agreement between rail unions and the Biden administration was first adopted in September and would help ease the brakes put on railroad bottlenecks. “The President urged Congress to adopt that agreement to prevent a crippling rail shutdown. The deadline for the cooling-off period is December 9th.” Gonzalez says quick intervention from Congress should prevent a total shut-down of rail lines. “Congress is really our last step. To avoid a shut-down or strike, Congress is needed to step in.”
