Mexico’s president appears to be back-peddling from his commitment to ban GMO corn imports, saying it will be accepted for feed usage. “It was unrealistic to say they wouldn’t take GMO corn with such a large percentage of our corn being GMO,” said Kristi Van Ahn, market analyst, Van Ahn and Company. “In the last two weeks, we’ve seen a lot of corn sales to Mexico and it is not surprising that they are backing away from that statement.”
