A day after the election, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz sat down with commissioners and state agency heads. Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen said the administration is hitting the ground running and mapping out the next four years. “It’ll be a little different with a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate, but with very close numbers,” Petersen told RRFN. “For agriculture, we’ve been able to pass bipartisan bills for the past four years I’ve been commissioner and we hope to see meaningful investments in agriculture.” Walz was scheduled to be at the AgriGrowth annual meeting to deliver his State of the State of Agriculture address, but shared video greetings instead.
