Mexican Deputy Agriculture Secretary Victor Suarez said his country is ready to cut U.S. corn imports by 50 percent when its biotech corn ban takes effect in 2024. Suarez told Reuters Mexico can get enough non-biotech corn from Argentina and Brazil to meet its needs. Mexico currently imports 17 million tons of U.S. grain per year, most of it being corn for livestock feed.
