Ahead of the election, it’s known that 41 state legislators will not be returning to St. Paul in 2023. Agricultural lobbyist Cory Bennett says it will be a time of change. “No matter who’s in control, Republican or Democrat, we’re gonna have new leadership, we’re gonna have new committee chairs, new committee staff,” said Bennett. There is a budget surplus, which will get attention in the upcoming legislative session. 2023 is a budget-setting year which will be a priority. “With that, I think you’re going to hear a lot about taxes and a lot of talk about a bonding bill.”
