Attendees at the North Dakota Livestock Alliance event acknowledged there are challenges for those hoping to increase livestock production in the state. North Dakota’s corporate farming law is seen as one obstacle. Attorney David Barrett says creativity is key in working within the law. “The corporate farming law has an exception for cooperatives if at least 75 percent of the members are farmers. That’s something we’re looking at to see if that works for some circumstances.”
