The University of North Dakota Alumni Association and Foundation presented the Sioux Award for Distinguished Achievement and Leadership to six individuals. Two of the award winners have a connection to agriculture, Those honorees are Jody Varberg Feragen, who is the first woman to hold an executive officer position with Hormel Foods, and former North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Sarah Vogel, who won a class-action lawsuit during the farm crisis of the 1980s.
