Recent rains should help with grain fill, but Nutrien Ag Solutions Principal Atmospheric Scientist Eric Snodgrass says it’s coming at the wrong time in western Iowa, Nebraska and portions of South Dakota. “The happiest people with these rains are probably the farmers in Texas dealing with drought.” There is a pressure ridge being seen across the Rocky Mountains. “The further west you push the ridge, the better our chances are at precipitation. It’s a pretty favorable forecast for the north and may push us into a La Nina-like fall.” Snodgrass will join the Red River Farm Network for the Big Iron Farm Show.
