Montana Wheat and Barley Committee Outreach Coordinator Sam Anderson says the state’s harvest is moving quickly. “Winter wheat harvest is at more than 70 percent complete. In terms of yield and quality, there’s been decent winter wheat quality, good test weights and protein.” Anderson says the small grains will still get decent quality and protein during drought, but yields take a hit.
