The Northern Crops Institute hosted another Cereal Innovators webinar on Wednesday featuring Megan Stanton, the associate director of food and drink at Mintel. Her presentation titled, “How Bakery Brands Can Navigate the Wheat Crisis,” explained the challenges businesses are facing due to the wheat crisis and what they can do to continue to reach consumers. Stanton cited the ‘lipstick effect,’ positioning goods as affordable luxury and plan for future supply challenges. This interactive webinar series focuses on new and unique ways to use cereal grains. Topics throughout the series include new processes, information on milling and baking, equipment information and uses for cereal grains grown in Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.
