Winter wheat harvest is pretty much wrapped up in South Dakota. South Dakota Wheat Commission Executive Director Reid Christopherson says these next few days of heat will help speed up the spring wheat harvest. “We’re really pleased with the results of the winter wheat harvest. Spring wheat harvest is progressing quickly, but there has been challenges with the straw drying out.” Christopherson says Ergot has been identified in some wheat fields. “Elevators are monitoring for Ergot closely and there has been cases of dockage on a few loads.”
