USDA updated payment rates under the Livestock Indemnity Program. North Dakota Senator John Hoeven said this will provide more help for ranchers. “In essence, it increases the reimbursement they’ll get for calves they lost in the blizzard last spring from about $179 a head to about $475,” said Hoeven. “I want to thank FSA and, in particular, (North Dakota State FSA Director) Marcy Svenningsen for working with us to get this done.” Payments that have been made will be recalculated to include the updated rates.
