The Environmental Protection Agency has released a draft biological evaluation of sulfoxaflor. This report says the insecticide is likely to have negative impact on certain endangered and threatened species and critical habitats. Once the draft opinion is posted in the federal register, there will be a 60-day comment period. Sulfoxaflor is registered for use in a variety of crops, including corn, soybeans and alfalfa. A lawsuit filed by the Center for Food Safety and the Center for Biological Diversity resulted in this EPA evaluation.
