After a delayed start to planting, the sugarbeet crop is starting to show rapid growth. “In the last week or so, the beets have taken off,” said Ashok Chanda, plant pathologist, University of Minnesota. “I would say some are getting close to row closure and some may take another seven-to-ten days.”
