New Jersey Senator Cory Booker is asking others to join him and take added or processed sugar out of their diets until Labor Day. In a tweet, Booker said the United States ‘uses tax dollars to drive down the costs of sugar,’ which is offset by high health care costs. Booker is a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee and takes an active role in farm and food policy.
